As the days pass by, there has been no word from the police. The death certificate is not yet issued. And the students are faced with an unyielding tragedy-to select a burial site for their dead classmate Arun Paul George. However, one student has hatched a plan to help them combat this crisis. Another day of school begins at St Mary’s School in Tangasseri, Ernakulam district of Kerala on 22 September 2016 when Mrs D John announces to teachers and students that they have to hold an assembly at 3pm sharp because there would be a guest who will address them about the death of their classmate Arun Paul George. Every teacher and student is aghast at this shocking news. Aghast because they never imagined that a death could happen in their small school. There is a sense of helplessness as though they can't do anything to stop or prevent this from happening. And yet, as they come to the assembly room, the atmosphere seems different as one by one, students start to speak. One by one, boys and girls speak about what they have gone through all this while. Some talk about how Arun was their favorite person from among all those who made it into St Mary’s and how he was so gentle and so soft-hearted and so kind and yet he had such compassion for others too. His death has turned their world upside down and yet they can’t do anything about it. Some talk about how Arun taught them to sit, stand and speak with compassion and hence, they will try to show the same compassion. But they also find it very difficult simply because no one is willing to listen to them and they don’t know how to make people listen to the fact that Arun is no longer there. There are some who say that his death has destroyed their belief in God; however, they will try not to lose hope as Arun wouldn't want them too. The assembly completes with Mrs John formally announcing that the family of Arun Paul George had agreed to the wishes of his classmates and friends, and they have chosen to bury him at Malayalam Medium School in Peroorkada. The students are shocked. No one is sure whether they should be sad or happy after hearing this information. Some want to rejoice but others feel sick, they just don't know what to do with themselves. After the assembly, most students head home or hang around in their classes for the remaining period of the day. A few go straight home while others spend some more time with other students at school. They all talk about Arun. Some find it difficult to speak about him and some find it very easy. There are some who share stories that Arun told them when he was alive, while others talk about their experiences in school with him. One student tries to console himself by saying that Arun's death is only for 5 days until he is finally laid to rest in Peroorkada; however, someone else raises the point that even when his body will be buried at Peroorkada, his spirit will still be in their midst. The day ends with everyone saddening over the fact that they have lost a dear friend but also rejoicing over the fact that he will return again someday. cfa1e77820
